Thirst Quenching Orange Soda

Sugar Free Thirst Quenching Orange Soda Recipe. An easy to make refreshing sugar free beverage.
orange

Oranges are plentiful year round. If you have your own orange tree, you will definitely want to give this sugar free orange soda recipe a try.  It is healthy, sugar free and very refreshing! The sparkling water is what makes this into a “soda,” that both kids and adults alike will love.

This is a perfect recipe year round, but especially perfect for backyard BBQ’s.

Ingredients

8 to 10 oranges
12 ounces of icy cold sparkling bottled water
1/16 teaspoon pure white powdered Stevia extract

Instructions

1. Squeeze oranges. I prefer having the pulp in, but you can strain it if you’d like.

2. Add the sparkling bottled water, and taste.  There are times when the oranges are so amazingly sweet you will not need any added sweetener.

3.  IF NECESSARY, add Pure White Stevia Extract Powder and give it a stir.  Start with 1/16 teaspoon, stir and taste. Add more extract if necessary … this will depend on the natural sweetness of the oranges you are using.

Note: You can also use Liquid Stevia if you prefer. Start with 10 – 15 drops and add more if necessary.   See the Stevia – Sugar Equivalents Chart here.

If you have a cheap source of oranges (your own, or a neighbor’s orange tree)  you will want to check out the SodaStream Home Soda Maker.    It will saves you loads of money and is a nice thing to do for the environment!

You can easily hand squeeze your oranges if making this recipe occasionally.  If you love fresh squeezed orange, lemon or grapefruit juices here is one of my favorite easy to use gadgets . . .

IF you want a juice extractor that extracts juice from vegetables and greens in addition to fruits, take a look at the KOIOS Juicer … along with the raving reviews.

The NO CARB Option

If you are on a Keto Diet or are strictly watching your carbs … Orange juice is NOT a good choice.  I leave the juice for the kids, but both my wife and I use these fabulous fruit flavors from  the line up of True Citrus products.  True Lemon, True Lime and True Grapefruit are our favorites and are totally sugar and carb free. We add  Stevia as a sweetener.
