The Obesity Code has been a life changer for me.
“In The Obesity Code, Dr. Jason Fung triumphs in explaining the core underlying causes of obesity and manages to simplify it in a way that anybody can understand. If more doctors and people were able to understand these causes and implement Dr. Fung’s actionable advice then we would be able to start reversing the obesity epidemic tomorrow.” —Sam Feltham, USA Today World Fitness Elite Trainer of the Year
I have had diabetes for over 15 years and for 14.5 years I have bought into my Diabetes Doctor’s claims that Diabetes is a progressive disease. They told me that my diabetes would get worse as time went on and that I would have to take more and more drugs to stay on top of it.
I was simply gobsmacked after reading Dr. Jason Fung’s book. The bottom line is that the billion dollar drug and food companies WANT you to believe that Diabetes is a progressive disease, that it can not be reversed.
What a crock!
Fung explains in extreme detail with loads of examples and mind boggling research studies that have been buried and hidden away. The bottom line is … Type 2 Diabetes IS reversible. The longer you have had diabetes, the bigger your challenge, but you CAN get back to normal. You CAN drastically reduce your drugs and maybe even get off of them forever.
I originally got this book from the library, but after two weeks of fighting the urge to get out my yellow marker and highlight every second sentence, I purchased my own paperback copy. That copy is now covered with yellow and pink highlights, notes in the margins and stickies marking particularly juicy sections.
Everything you believe about how to lose weight is wrong. Weight gain and obesity are driven by hormones—in everyone—and only by understanding the effects of insulin and insulin resistance can we achieve lasting weight loss.
In this highly readable and provocative book, Dr. Jason Fung sets out an original, robust theory of obesity that provides startling insights into proper nutrition. In addition to his five basic steps, a set of lifelong habits that will improve your health and control your insulin levels, Dr. Fung explains how to use intermittent fasting to break the cycle of insulin resistance and reach a healthy weight—for good.
